Greens keen to reduce commuting congestion

The Greens are eager to provide clean commuting solutions to Pacific Motorway congestion, brought to public attention by the SEQ Council of Mayors (Vote 1 for traffic solutions, July 23/10) in the Albert & Logan News.

A Greens HoR Member would move swiftly for ‘significant increase in public transport capacity,’ including extending the Busway and rail capacity in the 16km stretch between the Gateway and the Logan Motorway, called for by Mayor Parker. In the Senate, QLD Greens Candidate Larissa Waters would continue Greens efforts to speed funding of public transport and other green commuter solutions throughout Australia.

Greens promote traffic solutions that reduce our dependence on dangerous, expensive oil vehicles draining our health, wealth and even happiness. We recognize that infrastructure requires billions of debt-dollars for subsequent generations, so in the modern era of human-induced climate change and peak oil, Greens require ethical government spending on world standard congestion solutions like light-rail, innovative construction materials, or efficient work-from-home services like tele-commuting and flexible hours. Greens’ multi-faceted congestion solutions provide economic growth stimulus sustainably and imaginatively.

Through future-proofed solutions to Motorway congestion, Greens Candidates continue driving positive change.
